At Living EducationTM, LLC we facilitate processes that enable colleges and universities to integrate sustainable philosophy, practices, programs, and structures throughout the organization so education becomes responsive to the emerging potential for transforming the world. In this way college and universities become irreplaceable by serving their unique purpose in becoming a catalyzing agent for advancing the field of education.

We do this by working with individuals, schools, and communities to see their interrelationships so that a common aim can be fostered among all members of the community both in the college/university and in the greater place. Through this process students can make meaningful contributions in the community as a way of experiencing and understanding living system principles as praxis. Students then are able to apply this pattern-learning to any field of endeavor and be innovative leaders of a new thought technology with sustainability at its core.

These processes are very useful for colleges and universities who have signed such pacts as the American College and University President’s Climate Commitment.

We have our own College Sustainability Report Card called The Living College and University Assessment which assesses the college from a holistic and living system perspective focusing on the extent to which sustainable and regenerative philosophy is integrated into the site, the place, the mission, the organizing structures, pedagogy and curriculum, and the relationships with the larger community.
